Puppy / Dog Schedule

– Dogs 1 year of age: DA2PP + rabies +/- Bordetella
– Dogs 2 years of age: DA2PP +/- Bordetella

* After 1 year, rabies may be given every 3 years, depending on your dogs level of exposure. Some dogs (such as show dogs) may need to be vaccinated for Bordetella every 6 months.

DA2PP: canine distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, parvovirus

Bordetella Bronchiseptica: commonly known as “kennel cough”

Rabies: rabies is still very much alive in Alberta. In 2009, there were 3 cases of rabies reported in Alberta. There were 145 cases reported across Canada.

In 2008, Canada reported 235 cases of rabies.


Kitten/Cat Schedule

Annually: FVRCP, rabies, +/- FeLV

FVRCP: feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia

FeLV: feline leukemia – strictly indoor cats that do not have contact with other cats do not require this vaccine
