    Emery Cyfra
    Medical Director/Veterinarian

    Emery Cyfra grew up on a dairy farm in Symons Valley just north of the city of Calgary. Inspired by veterinarians that visited the farm, Emery, at the age of six years old, became interested in our profession. He became familiar with a number of veterinarians in the city and, after volunteering at Animal Clinic and completing his Bachelor of Science through the University of Calgary, qualified for entry to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Jodi Harbour
    Veterinarian

    Jodi Harbour received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with distinction from University of Calgary and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with distinction from Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Dr. Harbour started as a volunteer in 2003 and we are incredibly proud to watch her continue to grow and share her passion for veterinary medicine with us.

    Maureen Blessing
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Blessing graduated from WCVM in Saskatoon, SK in 1995. She worked in mixed animal practice in Ponoka for 12 years, focusing mainly on dogs, cats, and llamas. She started working at Animal Clinic West in December 2010. In 2011-2012 Dr. Blessing completed the IVAS acupuncture course with certification pending. Dr. Blessing is also a certified VNA chiropractitioner, has been trained in cold laser therapy, and is currently completing certification in Chinese herbal therapy.

    Registered Veterinary Technologist

    Rachelle graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Fairview College in April of 2006. She worked at an animal emergency centre for three years following graduation before joining the Animal Clinic West team.

  • Alexandra Lacey, RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technologist

    Alex grew up in a small town in northern Alberta. She loves fishing, quadding and anything outdoors. She recently graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Fairview College in April of 2018. Alex has a passion for small animal medicine and looks forward to growing in her profession here at Calgary West Animal Hospital.

  • Sarah Komarniski
    Client Service Representative

    Sarah was born in Calgary, AB and has grown up her entire life owning animals from cats to mice and everything in between. She attended Old’s College for the Veterinary Technical Assistant program in 2018, graduating with distinction. She has since joined the team at Calgary West Animal Hospital and is excited to continue to grow in her career!

  • Lori Schaff
    Client Service Representative

    Lori first entered the workforce with a nursing assistant diploma however she has always had a passion for animals. This passion pushed her to make the switch into the veterinary industry in 2012. Some of Lori’s favorite hobbies include doing daily excursions with her boxer, Niko, and cooking vegan food and other delicious dishes for her friends and family. Lori enjoys traveling, collecting vinyl records, hiking, reading, and crafting. Lori is thrilled to join the team at Calgary West Animal Hospital where she can continue to learn and grow in the veterinary industry.

  • Christine Scully
    Technical Assistant

    Chrissy graduated her Veterinary Office and Technical Assistant program in May of 2018 and joined the Calgary West Animal Hospital shortly after in July 2018. She has her own zoo of animals at home including 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 snake. Her long term goal is working towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Technologist.

  • Patricia Uston
    Volunteer

    Patricia Uston is Animal Clinic West’s designated ‘Pet Comforter’! Patricia, a retired nurse, who generously donates her time to our patients who are undergoing surgical procedures and comforts them as they wake up from anesthetic. Her volunteered time has been a tremendous addition to our practice and to the high quality of care we strive to provide.
    When she is not at the clinic comforting the post-surgical patients, Patricia loves to spend her time with her husband and two Sphynx cats, Poppy and Layla.
